Q: what is the dosage for vitex and b6 vitamin?
I am going to try using vitex and b6 vitamin this cycle to see if it helps lessen spotting before my period. I do not know how much to take of either each day. I see people talking about vitex in a liquid form, but the local GNC only has it in pill form. Each pill contains 500 mg. Is one a day enough? WHat about the b6 vitamin?
A: here is a website that should help you i started using this vitex receipe a month ago hope it helps!!! http://www.womens-place.com/ttc/vitex.php
Q: How long do I take B6 vitamin until it works?!?
I am 8 weeks pregnant and my midwife told me to try the B6 vitamin when I saw her yesterday. Ive read that after taken for a time, it helps nausea greatly! Just wandering how long I have to take it before it starts working? Also, how did you take it if you took it? What worked best for you?
A: I didn’t take b6 but I used Ginger instead. I went to Whole Foods and bought their natural Ginger Snap cookies that had little chunks of dried ginger in them and would snack on those. It totally stopped my nausea.
I can report now that after 7 years I can again enjoy a ginger snap. See? The memories do fade with time:-)
Q: How to do an IM injection of vitamin B6 by myself?
I have some vitamin B6 in the form of IM ampules prescribed by the doctor, and want to do the injection myself.
Where should i plunge the syringe so that i don’t harm myself? Which muscles?
Please help me. I don’t want to call a nurse.
any suggestions please???
A: Very bad idea. First learn how to do it properly from a professional. THEN, do it yourself.
Q: Does Vitamin B6 help with PMS and levelling out moods?
I heard that Vitamin B6 is good for females to take to help with moods throughout our cycle and also it helps with the symptoms of PMS. Is this true? If not is there another natural way to deal with bloating, moods and acne.
(the birth control pill is not an option I’m looking for a natural alternative option)
Thank you!
A: b6 is considered good for the brain function,.
Just call a compounding pharmacy in your area and ask what doctors test and balance hormones, that will help you the most.

Q: Why is there a higher risk for Vitamin B6 deficiency for heavy meat eaters?
Especially since meat is high in Vitamin B6.
Please give sources.
Thanks!
A: The best food sources are pork, organ meats, wheat bran, meat in general, poultry, fish, corn, legumes, seeds, grains, wheat, potatoes, bananas, green leafy vegetables, green beans, brewer’s yeast, avocados, wheat germ, soybeans, walnuts, blackstrap molasses, cantaloupe, cabbage, milk, egg yolks, green peppers, carrots, peanuts and pecans. Cooking and food processing destroys vitamin B6. Even the best sources generally have less than 1mg per serving.
Q: Vitamin B6 to help lengthen your luteal phase?
How much vitamin B6 should you take daily to help lengthen your luteal phase and does this really work? Does it lengthen by making your cycle longer or by making you ovulate earlier?
A: Between 100mg and 200mg (don’t go over 200 daily) are the normal recommended amounts. This made my luteal phase at least a day longer, and has the fringe benefit of reducing PMS! Ovulation will still occur at the same time; be sure to check for EWCM and chart BBTs to monitor ovulation.
Q: Has anyone had success with B6 vitamin lengthening your luteal phase or other methods?
I have a short luteal phase and am trying to lengthen it as I am trying to conceive. Any advice etc. is appreciated.
A: I just started it part way through this cycle, and it seems to be working. I’ve been taking 100 mcg every day with my prenatal for about a week and a half now. I have an 11 day luteal phase (not that short, but I’m not getting pregnant) and today is day 12. I’ve been cramping like usual but I haven’t started so I suppose the b6 is working.
Q: How many miligrams of vitamin B6 can I take a day for morning sickness?
I left my paperwork from the doctor at home so I forget. I am having a very queasy day. I took one 100mg tablet of B6 about 3 hours ago. How many can I take a day?
A: My docs put me on half of a 50 mg pill each dose. I took it along with a phenegren and half a unisom. And I took it every three hours religiously. But I would call your doctor and make sure. Hope you feel better!
Q: Does vitamin B6 help with regulating your period and ovulating sooner to help with a short leutal phase?
We have been TTC and i ovulated on day 25 in my cycle and normally have a period on day 28-32…can i change ovulation with B6 supplement?
A: You won’t be changing ovulation, per se, but B6 in larger than normal (but not excessive) doses sometimes allows the body to better regulate the production of estrogen and progesterone, in turn regulating the luteal phase to a more normal length. You could try a dose of 100mcg daily, but anything much more than that without medical supervision is not suggested because of nerve damage.
Having said all of that, a vitamin is not very likely to fix a luteal phase of 3 days. It’s supposed to be more like 14, so I’d ask your doctor if a progesterone supplement might not be a better way to go. It can make you VERY sleepy, so make sure you follow the directions on the packet
Q: How much does vitamin B6 increase luteal phase?
I usually have an 11 day luteal phase, so I have been taking B6 randomly throughout my cycle to lengthen it. I’m now 12dpo with no signs of AF. Is it possible that the B6 lengthened my LP already (I wasn’t expecting it to work already) even though I took it so sporadically? I spotted 9dpo and quickly took a B6. Haven’t had any spotting since. Do I dare get hopeful that I’m actually knocked up this cycle???
A: How many milligrams are you taking? If you’re taking sufficient amounts, it can usually increase your luteal phase by 1-2 days. So, it may have worked already, or it may have been just the little “extra” that you needed to get your BFP! I’d say go ahead and test! Good luck to you and lots and lots of stick baby dust.
Q: Could it be possible that the vitamin B6 are the ones making me throw up?
Yesterday, I started taking the vitamins(2 a day) and both times I threw up after. Same for today, I threw up after, even when I was eating and I was fine. Could the vitamin be making me throw up?
A: No, B6 should not make you throw up. In fact, B6 is supposed to help with morning sickness. It was the only thing that got rid of my morning sickness with my 1st baby. You should try and take the B6 at night before going to bed. That should help with it upsetting your stomach. Also cut back to taking it once a day. Good luck!
