I heard that Vitamin B Injections aid in weight loss, but thats not why I get them. They have been helping with my energy levels but I want to know If they have any other side effects. If any one knows please help!

A: Vitamin B12 does not have any side effects unless you are alergic to the vitamin itself. If you’ve been taking the shots for awhile now and haven’t noticed anything, you’ll be just fine.

I take in about 15,000% of the daily value or B12 on a daily basis…and the only s-s-s-side effect I have is being happy :) lol

Are there different types of vitamin B-12? Or they are all the same? Thanks
Thanks guys

A: cyanocobalamin (C63H88N14O14PCo)

a complex water-soluble organic compound that is essential to a number of microorganisms and animals, including humans. Vitamin B12 aids in the development of red blood cells in higher animals. The vitamin, which is unique in that it contains a metallic ion, cobalt, has a complex chemical structure

hydroxocobalamin (C62H89CoN13O15P)

a member of the vitamin B12 group used in treating and preventing vitamin B12 deficiency

I would suggest looking into methylcobalamin. Can be found in tablet form and no need of injections.

Edit: By the time that I finally found the one site that I listed in my source, seems that the first answer got several thumbs down – which I was NOT part of.

Q: Is taking a multivitamin with an extra vitamin B okay vs a prenatal vitamin?
I am currently taking a multivitamin that contains 400mcg and an extra vitamin B containing 500mcg a total of 900mcg. I am wondering if that is okay and I don’t need to buy a prenatal vitamins???

A: Don’t be messing with vitamins. You might overdose the baby and have a miscarriage or deform the baby. Simply eat a well balanced diet and drink 8 10-oz glasses of water and stay off soft drinks altogether. And by all means, don’t go near a cat, because you could get Toxoplasmosis which would almost assure that you would have a miscarriage or deformed baby. Google that word and you’ll see what I mean. Good luck.

Q: How much Vitamin B to give a cat?
My cat got Cryptococcossis and is taking Fluconazole for treatment. The fungus virus has effected his nerves system and his front legs are paralyzed the doctors said he should make a good recovery but they where unsure how much damage to his nerves going to his front legs.I have heard that vitamin B is good for nerve repair I need to know how much to give him.
I am unable to get a call back from the vet but did find out from a vet tech that giving him vitamin B should be ok

A: You need to make sure that you are giving Methyl B12… no other vitamin B or B12 will work. It must be Methyl B12.

This has been proven to be successful in treating neuropathy in cats.

You can read more about it here:

This page is about neuropathy caused by diabetes, but the parts about the Methyl B12 will be important for you..

3 – 9 mg per day is the average dose. The tablets come in micrograms so you would give 3000 to 9000 micrograms – 3 – 9 tablets.

They are dissolved in a tiny bit of water and then added to the food.

You can purchase them at health food stores.

Q: How much vitamin B-12 should a person take per day?
how many mcg’s of b-12 should a person have per day? in vitamin form

A: 50mg

Q: Does Vitamin B really help prevent hangovers? What are the pros and cons of taking Vitamin B while drinking?
Cause I thought too much of any vitamin was bad for you, eventually.
If I like to drink, should I buy vitamin B and take it before or after drinking?
btw, I take a women’s one a day multi vitamin

A: I brew a lot of beer at home and all the brewing books say you will not get a hangover from homebrew. The reason is homebrew is unfiltered and contains all the yeast. Yeast is very high in complex vitamin B which regulates the water in the body. They actually suggest drinking homebrew all the time, but if you can’t you should swallow a teaspoon of brewers yeast before going to bed. Hangovers are a result of the body being dehydrated. I do believe this works.

Q: My sister is taking vitamin B shots and she is always wiered. Is that normal? Is it possible she is taking too ?
much of it because her eyes bug out and she can’t sleep? She is also taking prescribed pills of vitamin B. Thanks.

A: Vitamin B 12 does provide energy and boost the immune system, but does not necessarily create the symptoms you are describing. There are different types of B vitamins, so it depends on what specifically she is taking.

If she is especially sensitive, she might consider taking a vitamin called melatonin to help her sleep. Melatonin is a natural enzyme that already exists in our bodies and tells us when to sleep as well as helping us get to sleep. She can find it in a local walmart, target, grocery store, or drug store in the vitamin isle.

Q: Can somebody give all about Vitamin B. Why is so called B complex considered complex? How many types of?
B vitamins have so far been discovered? what are the various sources of these B vitamins? what are their individual functions & benefits.

Q: Does not having enough vitamin B cause some disorder?
I have this old teacher that has been hospitalized for 2 weeks. One of her colleagues said that she didn’t get enough vitamin B so whenever she thinks about something, it just slips from her mind! please help!

A: Vit B12
Pernious Anemia.
You need B12 to help you produce red blood cells. You can be anemic
or
Korsakoff’s syndrome

Q: what are the effects of lack of vitamin B?
what are the effects when someone has a lack of vitamin B in his diet?

A: mostly a lack of energy. a lack of b-12 can lead to premature greying hair. some of the b vits help in digestion and protein absorption. there have been some studies in alzheimers patients that b supplements can help with memory but that’s all too new to call yet. muscle men take a complex b/amino acid capsule to aid in muscle growth.

Q: How many times a day can you take Vitamin B-12, 1000mcg?
I have Nature Made B-12 vitamins, 1000mcg. The bottle says one a day, but would it actually hurt me if I took two a day? One in the morning at one at night? I heard that they make anti-depressants work better and my doctor said taking it along with everything else certainly wouldn’t hurt.

Thanks :)

A: B vitamins are water soluable. Because of this, the body will only absorb what it needs and the rest is excreted. While taking very large/ridiculous doses is not a good idea, I don’t think you’ll have a problem unless you have a kidney or liver disease affecting filtration.
