Q: periiodontal disease, lupus, b12 deficiency and platelet disorder?
Health and body?
I am b12 deficient have a platelet disorder and have a positive ANA for SLE (lupus)…but all other lupus tests come back negative – now am seeing a periodontist for surgery. Mom has lupus & had periodontal surgery 10 years ago. I also have joint aches and don’t sleep well at all. I forgot, endometriosis too…does anyone know what any of this can be linked to? LUPUS? My platelet disorder is unknown – my blood won’t clot but the bloodwork does not match any known diseases. It’s very frustrating…I just wish I had some answers. I have seen specialist after specialist and shown all of them the bloodwork – it’s very upsetting for my husband and myself. I would like to get pregnant later this year but know I shouldn’t until I know more about what is wrong with me.
Does anybody have any diagnosis suggestions?
A: A positive ANA with a speckled pattern can mean something other than lupus. As far as getting pregnant maybe you should see an OB and tell him/her what’s going on, they may have a different take on your symptoms or be able to refer you to someone you haven’t seen. I know how frustrating it can be. It took me a year and a half to find out that I have lupus. Good luck to you.

Q: Womens issues?
I had my child #2 nearly 7 months ago. After delivery I bled for nearly 4 months and am now on iron tabs and b12 injections. After numerous tests and ultrasounds and tests and antibiotics for ovary infection, my doc decided to put me back on the pill to stop the bleeding. I tried 3 different pills and nothing helped. Then she put me on the strongest pill available and it stopped. I always thought that being on the pill reduced the severity of period pain. My periods are worse than ever. When I ovulate it hurts like hell. I am always constipated and I still don’t know whats going on with me. My doctor mentioned something about endometriosis (which I don’t know much about) but never bothered to diagnose me as she said its too difficult without having a preocedure. Has anyone had these problems and what should I do? I’m sick of having no answers and I’m sick of feeling like my ovaries are on fire!
A: i have learnt that you really need to ask your dr eveything.
dont leave thinking bugger what was that all about (like i always do)
demand explanations and do research on what you think could be wrong and what you think would help you, then go back in and tell him what you think.
i have learnt its the best way to get help
oodluck
Q: Growth outside my uterus and lesions on my body?
Short story here without a lot of detail, was in for an ultrasound on Wed, which radiologist thought was an etopic pregnancy bc she zeroed in on a fluid filled sac growing outside the uterus. However blood test proved it wrong on Friday that I am not pregnant. I’m now told to wait it out until a new ultrasound is booked, and today there are 2 more lesions that look like big cigarette burns on my body ontop of the one that I had a month ago.
Medical hx–I have endometriosis, tubes are tied, went in for endometrial ablation and d&c to remove fibriod tumors in July + I’m vit b12 def and anemic.
I realize I need a doctor for the full thing/diagnosis, just wanting to get ideas from people online here on what the growth could mean and why there are two very odd marks on me ontop of the one that I had starting a month ago which has doubled in size.
A: Its hard to say what these lesions are without seeing them. They could be related to the endometriosis or even the anemia, depending on what kind it is. Sorry this isn’t much help.
ps sorry to hear about the flicker acct.
Q: Has anyone else had an awful pregnancy?
Hi,
Im 23 and was told in 2008 after a laparoscopy I had endometriosis and a blocked fallopian tube and the chances of me falling pregnant were close to zero. A year later, working full time and also concentrating on launching my own online business I found out I was pregnant. Shocking news to both me and my partner, however we were happy as we had always believed I would need IVF in order for me to concieve.
I am the only person I know to have had a bad pregnancy, everyone I know sailed through pregnancy and think I am abnormal.
If youve had a bad pregnancy I would like to hear your story…
During pregnancy I’ve had :
Weeks 6-14 hyperemisis graviadum – sickness so severe – I couldn’t eat drink or swallow without throwing. I became so weak I couldn’t get out of bed and I lost a lot of weight.
Week 12, I started hallucinating was admitted to hospital and had to be re hydrated, as my body went into starvation.
24 weeks – made redundant from full time work, I worked for the company for 5 years, cannot claim SMP as I was not 25 weeks when made redundant.
25 weeks – Anaemia 8.7hb – told i need a blood transfusion in labour
25 weeks – Vitamin b12 deficiency – injections for the rest of my life
29 weeks – I was told my waters had broken given steroid injections and tablets, ordered to bed rest.
30 weeks – I stopped working on new business as my general health started to deteriorate, the tablets were making me ill and the anaemia was causing my sleep patterns to be disrupted.
31 weeks – I was told the hospital made a mistake and my waters were fine.
32 weeks – After going to the doctors with sharp pains in my bladder I was told I had a water infection
33 weeks – I returned to the doctors with bladder pain, and was told the baby kicked my bladder.
35 weeks – The bladder pain was so severe I was no longer able to walk, I went to maternity day unit opposed to my midwife and was sent to a physio, I have PSD (and I sympathise with anyone who has the condition) and was told to wear a belt and walk with crutches.
36 weeks –sickness was back, but nowhere near as bad as it was at the beginning. This week my feet started itching so had tests for OC – everything came back fine – thank goodness.
37 weeks – had severe back pain, went into hospital with contractions, was told I had a kidney infection.
37 weeks – my partner treat me to a facial, in the hope that the pampering would relieve some of my stress. I had an allergic reaction to the creams used and my skin became dry scaly and spotty and my face swelled so bad, I looked like the elephant woman.
I’m now 38 weeks my face has started clearing up and I’ve started feeling normal in myself, although my body clock is completely out of sync. I am still unable to walk without the aid of belt and crutches, but the feeling of normality is great.
I’ve got two weeks to go cant wait for her to arrive…
A: wow, im sorry to hear that my heart goes out to you. i am 23, have four c sections, and 1 miscarriage. all my pregnancy’s were pretty normal, except my fourth one, i had preclampsia, i had to have magnesium so wouldn’tnt go into a seizure and i had to have a blood transfusion. yeah, because of my age the doctor wanted to send me home than collapseded in thhospitalal, well of course hdidn’tnt know i was a single mom of 4 going to school for my cna and working all at once he just assumed i was 23 that have mami and daddy to baby me, whein factct i dont. but all my pegnacys i had uti’s and never new it till it went to uppekidneyey infection. but nothing as extreme as what you had to go throught. once again i wish the best for you and your baby:)
Q: nausea and no period on cerazette?
Hiya, just looking for some help really. i have been on cerazette since start of february this year.took it on first day on period.missed a pill once and followed the procedure, and even went and got morning after pill just to be sure.I havent had a bleed since which i thought was great as i used to suffer heavy periods. was at a gynae appt recently for endometriosis investigations and told dr about my lack of periods and he said i was one of the lucky ones lol and also did an ultrasound to check for ovarian cysts etc and discovered i have a tilted womb. since a few days ago i have been feeling funny, nauseaous, headaches, cramp, basically how i used to feel before and during my period but no bleed. this is also the time when my real period is due as my housemate has hers and we were in sync. i am just concerned i could be pregnant but am frightened to take a test. i have also recently had a load of bloods done at the doctor because of B12 deficiency, surely if i was pregnant they would have picked something up?has anyone else had a similar experience?
just to clarify, the gynae doctor did rule out endometriosis.
A: Starting at the bottom. Unless pregnancy is specifically tested for it will not show up no matter how many blood tests are performed. Your prescribing physician appears to have failed in his duty to advise you that all progesterone only contraception, which includes Cerazette, tends to produce dysfunctional, irregular and often ongoing bleeding, in most women for at least the first 3 months. With ongoing usage this tends to settle and increasing numbers of women either lose their periods entirely or only have an occasional one. By 1 year only 30% of women still have regular periods.
