Q: Do frequent falling and hitting of the head cause serious injury to my baby of 1 and a half years?
My baby oftentimes fall because of her active behavior and most often than not she always hits her head on something hard like the corner edges of cabinets or the floor.
Professional pediatrician advice preferably if there are pedias online. Thanks.

A: Yes.. a fall with a hit on the corner of a table can cause serious damage.. babies all fall to some degree as they learn to control their bodies. It’s our job as parents to make their environment as safe as possible. Visit you local baby goods supplier and check out corner guards. They are available for just this reason. Also you need to remove any other potential hazards in your home. Safety First. Babies First

Q: My resident continues to have frequent falls due to him/her being noncompliant. What are different interventio?
what are different interventions i can set in place to reduce number of falls for a noncompliant res.

A: A football helmet is in order.

Tin

Q: What causes a lack of coordination when walking? it is accompanied by back pain and frequent falls?
I fell off a step ladder three years ago and have considerable back pain. I fall frequently and as yet have no reason why.

A: Going on the assumption that there was no head injury, since you didn’t mention this, it could be a vertebral compression or fracture. This could put pressure on one or more spinal nerves causing the symptoms you describe. Please see an Orthopaedist for X-rays, evaluation and treatment options before the damage is permanent (if it isn’t already). Best of luck to you.

Q: Will it stop global warming? If you increase rain fall more and frequent in world over?
I (from India) have a great idea of invention, by which you can increase frequent raining all over the world.Advantage of the rain fall, bring down all corban dioxide, other pollution along with rain as well as wet the earth and will have clean air to breath. Due to sun rays, water evoprates and cool down the earth. At the same time, ground water increase, plants, forest grow faster, everywhere become greener which also help to cool down the earth.

A: I don’t see how it will “stop global warming”, particularly soon enough and with CO2 emissions still near 30 gigatons annually (total mass). Even if your invention could do what you say, without using megatons of cloud-seeding chemicals and/or gobs of energy, rainfall only dissolves so much CO2 (forming carbonic acid) and deposits much of the carbon TEMPORARILY on Earth’s surface. Or in the oceans, which are already turning more acidic from fossil CO2, with potentially negative consequences. And I doubt evaporation will much change Earth’s radiative imbalance if it’s just moving heat from the surface to higher in the troposphere, where it gets mixed around.

Q: I have frequent dreams of falling. possible reasons?
I don’t know why but when i first fall asleep I sometimes have a short dream where I am climbing a long ladder, i never know where its going, i just know i’m on a ladder and i’m climbing up it. then all of a sudden I start falling and wake up. I never hit the ground or anything either, i dont even know if there is a ground in the dream, or a place to climb to. anyone have any ideas as to why i may be having these dreams? they come every so often, probably atleast once a month and i have been having them for years. after i wake up i just fall asleep again and go into a different dream everytime.
I dont think its a fear of falling asleep, i love my sleep but can rarely get it. I read and listen to music nightly to help me sleep b/c my mind is extremely active at night and i will sometimes lay there for hrs trying to fall asleep. wait.. perhaps part of me wants to sleep but part of me wants to be awake to continue my thought processes which would lead to this “falling asleep” type of falling, maybe my mind doesn’t want me to fall asleep yet. strange …
kurt f your answer was definately interesting, i would be interested to hear some more answers from other people aswell though before i draw any conclusions.

A: This is a common feeling when “falling asleep.” That is why it is called “falling asleep.” You are just conscious enough to catch it. I would not attach any meaning at all to the feeling.

I submit to you that you may in fact be a little bit fearful of sleep. As your body begins to “fall” asleep, you become hypersensitive to the effect and wake yourself. Do you have the experience of hitting the bed as if you have actually fallen. (This happens too. A muscle jerk reaction that makes it feel like you have actually fallen.) All quite common.

You might try a bit of relaxing music or try reading before you fall asleep. These things will occupy your mind so that you are not actually thinking about falling asleep as you do it.

Good Luck.

Q: Frequent urination before falling asleep.?
I am a 30 year old male in good physical health with only these symptoms.
-I feel the urge to urinate whenever I lay down to go to bed.
-I may go twice or ten times.
-I have normal urination during the day.
-I can lay down for a nap during the day without said symptoms.
-I do not have decreased “flow” during that day.
-The amount I urinate at night is a very small amount each time I go.
-I do not wake up to go after I fall asleep.
-I have had these issues since I was a teenager. I have had days where I have not had to go at all, but they are few and far between.

Any help would be much appreciated. Please point me in the right direction for some treatment.

A: There are many reasons for Nocturia
Chronic bladder infection
Diabetes
Drinking too much fluid before bedtime, particularly coffee, caffeinated beverages, or alcohol
High blood calcium level
Certain medications
Obstructive sleep apnea and other sleeping disorders
You can seek help through your doctor for further investigating.

Q: Cats Hair and Skin are falling off. PLUS frequent urination with barely any pee?
I live in Korea. Recently I bought a kitten, Jade, off the streets. I took her to the Vet here and he said she was fine. Then, about a week ago her skin and hair started falling off! I took her back to the vet and he said she had mites. He didn’t test her skin or anything, he just looked at her. Then he gave a shampoo and told me to come back later. It seems to be getting worse. On top of that, today she kept trying to pee, but only a little comes out. I am so worried and the cultural differences reguarding animals is huge. Also, we have already adopted another kitten, Charlie, who will arrive in 5 days…HELP! I can’t get any from the Korean vets and I don’t want her, or my new kitten, to die~ :(

A: I too originate fr. another country (3 generations ago) where animals are not a priority nor pet, just a food source, but fortunately live in Canada {where some} vets are very good and animal welfare comes first.

-1st is there ANY other vet in Korea that may have the knowledge, medical schooling and “genuine” compassion for small animals? If so, going to another vet is a must.

-If not, here’s my advice,.. suggest vet to give cat an anti-biotic such as “Chloramphenicol”, “Cephalosporin (Cephalexin)”. or more common broad spectrum anti-biotic “ampicillin”,.. I highly suspect the kitty has a bacterial urninary tract infection (may be with crystals, but doubt it, since she’s a female and it’s rarer than males).
Any of the above anti-biotics given for 7-10 days should (if I’m right) kill off the infection.
-2ndly, pls give her only canned foods for now or chicken & rice, beef broth & rice (people-type foods),.. I do believe that dry foods will irritate (am copying/pasting below advice I gave to another) Also try giving her some yogurt (1 -2 tsp. per day, if avail in yogurt) and STAY OFF milk products.

But priority is the anti-biotics,.. she’s suffering and the hair loss may be due to the trauma of her urninary condition.
Below is further advice,(which may assist you, if it is FUS, crystals…. if possible in your country.
Hope it is of some help.

****
Years of experience even prior to vets inexperience with the horrid affliction!

Signs:
~ Uneasiness, straining and frequency in the litter box
~ Appearance of or doing squatting position (like ready or peeing) in odd places or in box.
~Pinkish tinges in smallish amts. of frequent pee.(sign of irritation and the pink is tinges of blood)
~Complete blockish is meowing loudly (howling) in box, unable to pass any pee,.. then is VET asap, to use cathreter to try to unblock the crystal in urethra.
***PLEASE try to give mainly wet can foods (despite what any vet says, I find dry the culprit),.UNLESS the dry is from vet’s and specially formulated with “acidifiers” to dissolve crystals.
***OR if you do give some dry fds., MAKE sure it has the ingredient “DL Methionine” in it (read side panel),.. that is a natural neutralizer which prevents crystalization. (also found naturally in cranberry juice,…which you could also buy in grocery store and just squirt with syringe in cat’s mouth to prevent).
I went through (as did my poor male fixed cats) h e l l watching them suffer until I did research, experienced this affliction in them.
I now do not neuter till at least 8 mths., when all their organs are fully develop and ONLY give them dry fds. with DL Meth. in it and plenty of can wet fds. too.

Q: does a gay guy stand some chances of falling in love with someone without frequenting lgbt enviroments?
I mean just living his everyday life as hetero people do…

or does he have to come out first, admitting to himslef that he’s gay, and then start to frequent lgbt places?

A: Good question.

First I believe it all starts with you accepting yourself the way you are. You do not need to scream it to the whole world. Just allow yourself to be whatever you are without fear or any preconceived notion. Then perhaps you might be ready to experience a relationship (and that goes for any sexual orientation): just be yourself and feel good about yourself.

Naturally, a gay person can fall in love anywhere. BUT keep in mind that gay people tend to hide EXACTLY because out of the LGBT environment there is a lot of hate and misunderstanding. So although it is not impossible, I’d say it is harder.

But if you frequent a LGBT environment (often or just sometimes) the odds will naturally go up, since in that environment gay people are much more open and natural about themselves (because they know there is no hate there). It is much easier to meet people in a LGBT environment for obvious reasons. AND that has nothing to do with sex.

Q: very frequent falls and head injury in toddler?
my baby 15 months old is very often falling backwards and everytime hitting his head very hard on the head with a loud bang. which scares me to death. it happens almost every day since he has started walking. dont know how to avoid it. he just falls off, trips over things, slips, etc etc. falls as i know are very natural at this stage but not so often and not frequent hitting of head. i checked with a doctor (paed), he said baby seems ok. though i will see a paed neurologist as well. but how to avoid it. and why its happening?
which all tests are required as to find out what is happening inside the brain ofmy child. if there is any injury or not.
its really stressful for me now

A: Are you asking if its normal for your kid to keep falling? I would say so, you need to try and make the house as toddler proof as possible. And keep an eye on him. But if you suspect something is wrong with his balance development then raise it with the doctor and see what he says.

Q: What is your most frequent reoccurring dream?
my most frequent involves me falling or being dropped from a great hight, wakes me up every time.

A: Being surrounded by blue water. I’m either walking on it or flying over it. weird, huh?

Q: Hands and feet falling asleep, along with frequent migraines?
so, i’ve been having a migraine every day now for the past couple weeks. and now for the past 2 or 3 nights, every time i fall asleep, so do my left fingers and toes. and it just seems to be getting worse. my left hand feels cold, like its on the verge of going numb. Some background info, i’ve been under an immense amount of stress lately, im overweight (5′4″ 205lbs), and i recently begun birthcontrol pills. so, could someone tell me what the heck is going on?
my blood pressure is usually fairly low, and it feels low to normal right now.

A: Your symptoms sound like your blood pressure may be extremely high. You could also be suffering from a heart related problem, blood clot or another serious medical condition. Birth control pill’s can cause life threatening side effects to some, you should seek medical help asap. Best Wishes that you feel better soon:)

Q: I Got really curly, Frizzy and Thick hair..that’s been falling out recently due to the frequent blow-drying..
(i blow dry it 3 or 4 days a week) to straighten it.I don’t do flat irons or relaxers cuz i dnt like ‘em. Now i eliminated my blow drying to only 2 times a week and i go natural for the rest of the week. i try not to wash it that much only conditioning or not washing it. Now i’ve been looking around for good hair products to tame my frizz and defines my curls when i go natural … and at the same time adds shine and silkiness to my hair when i blowdry it… and there are lots and lots of stuff out there.

I need to know what shampoos and conditioners and frizz serums and deep hair conditiong and finally leave-in condtioners that are REALLY REALLY REALLY good out there. I tried the garnier (sleek and shine) line, but after i spoken to a hairstylest she said she doesn’t recommend that cuz its not the best. I just bought pantene hydrating curls but some said it’s the worst. John Frieda didn’t do it for me.. Is it Paul Mitchell or Matrix or Biolage or Redken or what NEEEEDD HELPPP PLEASEE

Q: Are you experiencing frequent thoughts of having babies even though you are not pregnant yet?
I am 22 and have been married for 2 years. I am starting to think about babies every single day and how much I really want one. My husband and I want to wait until he at least graduates from college (which is only a month away) and I only have one more semester (Fall ‘09) to complete until I am done with college too. Anyway, are you experiencing frequent thoughts of having babies even though you are not pregnant yet? Last week I had 3 dreams about our firstborn!

A: Yes, I used to think a lot about having a baby when I was not pregnant. It is funny because me and my hubby decided to not to have babies until an year or so…but we changed our plans and I got pregnant..YAY! I used to think of how a 9 month old or an year old would make mess in our bed room, living room and kitchen :D and it made me crave for a little one!! Congrats to your hubby for his graduation and good luck to both of you for your future. May you have a healthy baby whenever you plan for one!
